About Us
Chang’s was started in 1968 by Mr C.H. Chang, the then Chinese Consul General to Australia. His business importing authentic Asian foods broke new ground in Australia. At the time, Chinese food was a new restaurant style, and Thai and Malaysian cuisine were virtually unheard of. Cypress and Sons Pty Ltd took over Chang’s in 1982 and the business was expanded to offer the foundations of basic Asian cooking.
As our passion for Asian foods has increased over the decades, so has the range of Chang’s products. Today in Australia, Chang’s is a household brand for authentic Asian cooking. The range includes Light and Dark Soy, Fish, Oyster, Hoisin, Black bean, Thai Sweet Chilli, Sweet Soy, Master Stock, Japanese Ponzu, Oriental Salad Dressing, Sesame Oil, plus a variety of ready made stir fry sauces, canned and frozen vegetables.
Chang’s offer a full range of gluten free and wheat free sauces and noodles so now Coeliacs can enjoy Asian cuisine at home. Noodles also play an important part in Asian Cooking. The Chang’s noodle range includes Thai Style rice noodles, Rice and Bean Vermicelli, Wok Ready Noodles, Egg Noodles, Fried Noodles, Fried Rice Noodles and Hokkien . Three varieties of rice based pasta are also available (Spaghetti, Macaroni and Shell).
Today there is a Chang’s product for every occasion, from a Chinese dinner party for friends, to a weeknight family meal or “chocolate spiders” for the kids.
