Chang’s Apple Crumble

Apple Mixture:

  • 6 large green apples, peeled, cored and diced 2cm cubed
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg



  1. Preheat oven to 160C fan forced.
  2. In a saucepan add the apple mixture ingredients and over medium heat bring to boil, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring frequently for 5 minutes or until apples are slightly softened. Pour the apple mixture into an oven safe baking dish.
  3. To make the topping, place the noodles in a food processor, and pulse until chopped but not pulverised (alternatively place into a food bag and using a rolling pin, break into small pieces). Next combine all the topping ingredients and mix well.
  4. Sprinkle topping over apple mixture and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Allow sitting for 10 minutes, then serve with ice cream, custard, vanilla yogurt or on its own.
